Who we are

Immigration Together was established by Jamil Dhanji, a barrister who practises at Goldsmith Chambers in Temple, London. Jamil is an immigration, asylum and nationality law specialist. He has a number of reported cases, has been published and regularly lectures and commentates on UK immigration law.

Immigration Together is a platform that connects you directly to barristers who specialise in immigration law. Whether you just need advice, want help with your application or want a barrister to represent you in your appeal or judicial review, the barristers at Immigration Together can help you.

The barristers who accept instructions through Immigration Together specialise in all areas of UK immigration law, but the particular focus of this platform is on family life cases. Immigration Together was founded with the objective of reuniting families who have been forced apart by immigration problems and of keeping families facing separation because of those problems together. If you or your clients require advice, want to apply to join or remain with your family members or need to appeal or seek judicial review to enforce your right to family life, Immigration Together can help. Click here for further details on what we can do for you.

If you instruct a barrister through Immigration Together, you can be sure of three things:

  1. You will receive honest advice from barristers who are expert in immigration law. We will not simply tell you what you want to hear, but will advise you, in a clear and helpful way, of the best way forward for you and your family in your immigration case.
  2. You will be charged a reasonable transparent fixed fee. We are upfront about how much we will charge to work on your case. We work on a fixed fee basis, which means that we tell you at the beginning of your case what the barrister will do for you and how much it will cost. We take payment of fees at the outset and you will not be charged any more for the agreed piece of work to be completed.
  3. The barrister you instruct will work tirelessly to achieve a successful outcome for you. We know how important your family is to you and we take our commitment to you very seriously. We will give you 100% in everything that we do.

The Bar Public Access Scheme allows members of the public to instruct a barrister directly without having to instruct a solicitor or other lawyer. In the past it was necessary for clients to use a solicitor to instruct a barrister. Using the Public Access Scheme could potentially save you money as you only need to pay for the services of a barrister and not a barrister and a solicitor. It also gives you direct access to barristers who are at the cutting edge of the UK’s ever-changing immigration laws, representing clients every day in immigration courts and tribunals. All of our barristers hold current practising certificates and are regulated by the Bar Standards Board. For guidance from the Bar Standards Board on how the scheme works, click here.

That said, the barristers at Immigration Together also work closely and successfully with many excellent immigration solicitors all over the UK. If your case requires it, our barristers can introduce you to solicitors who can add value to your case. And if you are a solicitor, don’t hesitate to reach out to our barristers through this platform so that our barristers can work with you to help your clients and their families.
